Art gallery
Galerie Hebecker
Schillerstraße 18, 99423 Weimar
About This Site
An art gallery on the first floor of Schillerstraße 18, run by the siblings Susanne and Klaus Hebecker — twentieth-century German art, with a particular eye for artists defamed as degenerate under National Socialism and for expressive realism.[1]
The programme
The gallery shows twentieth-century art as its core, and holds to two threads the century itself tried to cut: artists whose work National Socialism defamed as degenerate, and artists devoted to expressive realism.[1] It publishes too — a small imprint of its own on modern art — and its exhibition banners hang over the Schillerstraße between the bay windows.
