About Café Frauentor

Café Frauentor is the classic Kaffeehaus of the Schillerstraße — cakes and pastry from its own Konditorei, coffee-house tables inside and cane chairs on the corner outside, with a view of Goethe's house from the heart of the old town.[1] Its own advertisement calls the spot the most sinful corner in Weimar, and the cake counter is the argument.

The corner and the Konditorei

The house bakes for itself — Backkunst aus eigener Konditorei is its own promise — and runs from morning coffee through to a restaurant evening, seven days a week.[1] The corner terrace at the top of the Schillerstraße sits where the pedestrian street opens, with the town walking past all day.
