Künstlergarten

A garden in the back country of the Theaterplatz, one street off the busiest square in Weimar and quiet enough that you notice the difference. By day it is a shaded café terrace beside the Haus der Weimarer Republik; in the evening it becomes a small stage — live music, readings, the kind of programme that fits between tables. It is a summer bar in the literal sense: it opens with the warm half of the year and closes with it, so the season, not the week, decides whether you can go.
