About Künstlergarten
From the beginning of June to the middle of September the Künstlergarten runs music, literature and film in the open air, and the setting is most of the appeal: a shaded café terrace by day on Weimar's most central square, a small cultural programme by evening, tucked into the back land behind the Theaterplatz next to the Haus der Weimarer Republik. Concerts tend to run from eight to ten, matinées from eleven to noon. It is a season rather than an event — the programme changes week by week and the garden simply stays open — and it is the one place in the middle of town where the classical city is a backdrop rather than the subject.
