Not a festival but a season. The city's own words are "Von Juni bis September wird Weimar zur Bühne – ein Fest der Künste": from June to September Weimar becomes a stage. Under it sit the Künstlergarten and the open-air cabaret across the whole summer, the markets and celebrations of late August and early September, and the Kunstfest, which the city describes as the season's climax and close.
