About mon ami Weimar X Zebra Club
The house bills it as an evening between memory, literature and rap, and the shape is unusual enough to be worth explaining. Kurt Tallert — who records as Retrogott — reads from his first book, Spur und Abweg, which follows his own family's persecution under National Socialism and its threads to Buchenwald. A moderated conversation with the audience follows. Then the evening moves: Tallert plays the Zebra Club on the Rießnerstraße with Hulk Hodn. Funding makes the reading at mon ami free, and anyone who comes to it pays less at the concert.

Historical periods
The book Tallert reads from traces his family's persecution under National Socialism and its connections to the camp.
The regime wanted Weimar for what its name meant, and it built a concentration camp on the hill above the town. Both facts belong to the same twelve years.
