Die Verwandlung

The house calls it dance theatre freely after Franz Kafka, and that choice solves the problem every staging of this story has: a text about a body that has become wrong, usually delivered by actors talking about it. Give it to dancers and the transformation is simply visible, which is both more faithful and harder to watch. It closes after its second night — the Spielplan marks that performance as the Derniere — so it is one of the productions where a visitor either catches it or does not.
