The Staatskapelle's players give a morning to the chamber music of the Thuringian composer Karl Dietrich, a century after his birth. The programme crosses several decades of his writing: a »Barocke Version« for string quintet, a Divertimento for flute and string trio, »O vos omnes« for soprano and string quartet, a solo piece for double bass, the Sömmerdaer Serenade for the town he was born in, and a »Concertino affettuoso«. The house describes a composer who filled traditional forms with a fine humour and an unusual sensitivity to sound, and who left a mark on his pupils.
