Open-Air-Konzertnacht

The Staatskapelle ends the season out of doors. Chief conductor Ivan Repušić takes it into the Weimarhallenpark, lit for the evening, with a programme of Italian opera — the tunes everybody knows set beside things that are rarely played, virtuosity beside quiet. The house makes no apology for the appeal of any of it: love, longing, jealousy and hope, in a park, in the dark.
