Der zerbrochene Krug

A village judge presides over the case of a broken jug and spends the play steering the investigation away from himself, which is the tightest comic mechanism in German drama and the reason the piece never leaves the repertoire. The house stages it freely after Kleist and with integrated audio description — not an added service performance but built in, so a blind or partially sighted visitor and everyone else are in the same room on the same night. That is the more interesting decision here, and it is the second production in this season built that way.
