About Fête de la Musique
On the longest day of the year the old town becomes a stage without a stage. The idea is French and has been exported nearly everywhere: musicians set up in the streets and on the squares, and anyone who wants to listen simply stops walking. Weimar's mix runs from early music and classical through jazz and klezmer to chansons and ballads, which in a town of this size means that turning a corner changes the century.
