Weimarer Zwiebelmarkt

The city calls it the largest and oldest market and city festival in Thuringia, and it has the edition count to argue the point — the 2026 market is the 373rd. Onion growers bring braided ropes of onions into the old town, stages go up across several squares, a children's market runs alongside, an Onion Market Queen is crowned each year, and the city run takes several thousand people through the streets and the Park an der Ilm on the Saturday.
