The North-East German society for gynaecological oncology holds its annual meeting at the Weimarhalle in early November, under the title 360° Gyn-Onkologie.
Why a regional society matters more than a national one here
This is the society for the north-east — the states that were the GDR, plus Berlin. A speciality organising itself regionally says something about how German medicine actually works: the national congresses set the field, and meetings like this one are where the doctors who will treat you next week compare notes. Weimar sits near the middle of that region, which is a large part of why the town's congress trade exists at all.
