Sport im Park
1 May – 30 September 2026
Tuesdays, 17:00–18:00, May to September
A free hour of open-air training in the Weimarhallenpark, every Tuesday through the summer.
Orienteering for everyone
An afternoon of orienteering for people who have never done it, free and without registration.
The next edition has not been announced yet
A sports club opens its own discipline to anyone curious for an afternoon — beginners, families and the merely interested, on easy ground and with nothing to pay.
Orienteering needs a mapped course and someone to set it, which is why most people never attempt it however much they like walking in woods. Handing beginners a prepared course on accessible ground is the only realistic way in, and the club states plainly that curiosity and a willingness to move are the entire entry requirement.
On the ground around the youth hostel Am Ettersberg, on the wooded high ground outside the town — walking country Weimar has used for generations, and the sort of terrain that makes a mapped course possible at all.
