About Jahrestagung der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Phlebologie und Lymphologie
The German society for phlebology and lymphology holds its annual meeting at the Weimarhalle over four days in September, with two Thuringian doctors presiding.
Four days, the longest booking in the hall's autumn programme
Most of what the Weimarhalle takes runs one or two days. This one runs four, which makes it the single largest block in the building's calendar and, for anyone visiting Weimar in the second week of September, the most likely reason a hotel is full. The town's congress trade is invisible in the tourist literature and entirely visible in the room rates.
What is actually discussed
Varicose veins from diagnosis through to surgery, the diagnosis and treatment of lymphoedema and lipoedema, thrombosis therapy, chronic wounds — and practice management with artificial intelligence, which is the item that dates the congress to this decade rather than any other. It is presided over by two doctors from Erfurt and Jena, which makes it a Thuringian meeting as well as a national one.
