One performer, seven characters, songs in between: the house bills it simply as a cheerful and musical solo show. The form is older than it looks — the character turn, where a single actor changes posture and voice and the audience does the rest of the work — and it survives because it needs no set and no second salary. Galli runs it in blocks of consecutive nights rather than spread across the season, and it comes back over the Christmas week, which is when a small theatre wants something that fills a room without a large cast.
