About Blumenmarkt
The city's page sets the scene in Goethe's time, when flowering rarities and exotic plants delighted the court and a brisk trade in the rarest cultivars became the fashion; today it is the region's nurseries that bring the display. "An Blumen fehlt es im Revier", the market page quotes, and gardeners and would-be gardeners meet to make it colourful. One day, a Sunday in late May — a different market from the Frühjahrsmarkt the market office holds on the Marktplatz two weeks earlier.
